Long time, no blog

Well, it has been a while since I have blogged. Not because I didn't want to, but because we have been busy. So, I lied. I really haven't wanted to blog.

Since the last time I blogged, we have had some exciting things happen in the Lloyd household. Hang on to your seats, folks. This is going to get cray-cray.

First up, we have been soaking up some rays here in Central Florida. Well, actually on the Palm coast. We met with our friend T and his girlfriend Kelsey at Flagler Beach for some fun in the sun. We had brunch at this yummy little seafood place and then hit the waves, literally. The waves were so rough, yet very fun. After we left for the day, T sent us this video. No big deal that we were super close to this area. I for real had a freak out.

My cutie husband posing at the beach

Along with getting tanner than Snooki, we have also purchased a couple of fun things. My husband thought this was a fun purchase. Me? I would rather have spent the money at Nordstrom Rack. Yet, he does make a cute lumberjack with his chainsaw and very dull colored chaps.
We also purchased a new ride. Whoop Whoop. We are now the proud new owner of a 4-Runner. Super pumped. I have yet to drive it because I am so scared of wrecking it. Like for real. I am pretty sure that my husband thinks I am the worst driver too.
After an exciting day full of eating, naps, and watching the Olympics, we decided to get wild and crazy and go out for frozen yogurt and purchased these:

We are so wild. When we were in Jamaica, I feel in love with playing tennis. I totally stink at it, but it is fun to play. We are going to try them out tomorrow after church. Super excited.

In just a couple of weeks, I get to see these two pumpkin heads. I seriously can not wait. P.S. how stinking cute are they in their soccer uniforms? Future David Beckham and Mia Hamm? I think so.

Hope you all are having a restful and relaxing weekend! Off to watch more of the Olympics : )

Wednesday love

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday!

I am loving today for a few different reasons.

Reason Number One:
This girl has been in Orlando for two days. I have been able to hang out with her some over the last two days. She is one of my dearest friend, and I really wished we lived near each other. Her friendship means the world to me. Move to Orlando, okay? I promise I will go to Disney with you everyday.

Reason Number Two: New friends.
Moving is always hard. Moving away from family and friends and having to make new ones are even harder. We are loving our new church and we are slowly, but surely meeting new friends. I was able to hang out with a new friend today and it was super fun.

Reason Number Three: I booked my flight for Tennessee in August. I.can.not.wait.  I get to help celebrate this girl and her upcoming wedding to Trey's best friend.

Not only do I get to hang out with some of my fun friends, I also get to see these crazy people.

Annnnnnnd, we get to celebrate this little princess who turns four?!?

I am still a little bit in denial that she is not a baby.
Like, really stressed out.

Well, as you see, I have had a super amazing Wednesday. Hope this hump day treated you well : )

We put the Nas(ty) in Nascar

Well, ladies and gents, I did something yesterday that I had never done before. I went to a NASCARrace. Yes, it was crazy. Yes, it was wild. Yes, I had the best time ever.

Disclaimer: The pictures in this post may seem like my friends and I are making fun of all things NASCAR. We are not. Quite the opposite, we are enjoying the festivities in fun, questionable apparel. I promise I am not making fun, just fascinated with this hobby of so many different people.

Let me back up a little on how I ended up in Daytona on a hot July night. Our friend, T lives in Jacksonville, about two hours from Orlando. His friend Ryan was coming in for the weekend and they wanted to partake in attending a real, live NASCAR race. So, T called us and asked us to join. I was hesitant for many reasons. Reason #1: I had only heard stories about these races. Reason #2: Remember, my husband and T are trouble. 'nuff said. Reason #3: Talk of dressing up was mentioned. Not dressing up like going to a nice restaurant. Dressing up like Halloween. When I expressed my concern, my oh so funny husband replied " Seriously, Jen, just imagine you are dressing up for date party." Yeah, definitely had my last date party in 2008!?! Remember, we are 26 years old, like out of college 4 years ago. So, the boys won out on the dressing up and I headed to Wal-Mart to find something to wear. Annnnnd, I ended up with this little beauty:

You may not know this about me, but I am a Tridelta. Our mascot is the dolphin. How perfect was this shirt for me. I wore this shirt with pure pride. Delta Three, Delta Tri 4-ever. delta love.

So, when we arrived in Daytona, I was in awe. I definitely did not comprehend the devotion and love that people have for NASCAR. It is incredible. People were tailgating from Thursday night for this race. They shamed some VOLS tailgating. for real.

We found a nice, shady spot to tailgate since it was just 4 million degrees outside. We cooked some burgers, ate some chips, and chilled for a couple of hours before heading into the big event.

Yes, this is what my husband wore to the race.
Yes, it is the shape of FL in a gun.
Don't worry, he legitimately wears this shirt around the house.
Loud and proud, y'all.
I love these boys so much.
They are crazy, but they are soooooo much fun.
Oh, you know, just tailgating in our beach chairs. no big deal.
This may or may not be our Christmas Card picture for 2012.
totally not kidding.
 Dolphin 'Merica shirt. Check.
Sunglasses. Check.
Ear protectors. Check.
I was beyond ready for the race.
Guess who told husband to wear tennis shoes.
Guess who didn't listen.
Guess who ended up with dirty, grocery store feet.
Oh, that would be my husband.
I knew we were meant to be there.
Do you see the lake's name?
Lake LLOYD!
We thought the race started at 6:30.
So, we arrived at 6:15.
No, it started at 7:30.
It was totally okay because Train played the pre-race show.
So many people. Very loud cars.
 Of course, they had fireworks.
You know that I was a happy camper.

So, moral of this blog post: If you have the chance to go to a NASCAR race, DO IT. Seriously, so much fun.

We guarantee you will have a great time.
As you can see, we totally did!!!

First Fourth of July in Florida

Our first 4th of July as residents in the state of Florida was great. We did nothing too crazy. We had planned on going to the beach, but we figured that most of Central Florida would be doing the same thing. So, we opted for a late breakfast, strolled around Winter Park, grilled out some seafood, and watched fireworks in downtown Orlando. Plus, our super fun friend T was in town, so we spent some time with him. He just moved about two hours away so we are excited to have him close. Hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating : )

 These two are t.r.o.u.b.l.e.
Please excuse the blurriness. and my greasy hair. yikes.
I told you guys I would find fireworks.
